Maintenance
There are three main elements in keeping your pool crystal clear and fresh. First is by taking out any debris that has accumulated from the previous season. Leaves, sticks, and mud can build up over the off seasons of usage. You occasionally have dead animals, like mice, or squirrels so make sure you get them out before the party guests arrive. There are also sediments that line the pool walls that need proper scrubbing which builds up over time. If it's an above ground pool, then a different cleaning instrument is used. After breaking up the sediments, you’ll need to vacuum them out with either a hose that is attached from your pump or an independent vacuum. There are robotic vacuums on the market, that work separate from your pool system and clean your pool alongside your filter. After you vacuum all the debris, we check the chemical balance. This takes precision because you don’t want to put the wrong amount of chemicals in your pool. If you put in too little, your pool isn’t sanitized and bacteria has the ability to grow! If you add too much it can be harmful to your family's health and well-being. There are proper metrics in which you want your pool chemical levels to be at. You add chemicals and test the water to make sure you added the right amount. The third element is the filter. There are different types of filters which you can use in your pool. These filters help the pump from taking in any foreign material that isn't supposed to be in there. Other filters can separate and clean the water as it passes through. These are the three main filters; Sand, Cartridge, and Diatomaceous Earth filters. (DE Filters for short). Pool cleaning isn’t hard but if done wrong, it could cause injury due to the chemicals involved or the lack of, which is a breeding point for bacteria.
